Opt Dir
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The most-asked questions about OptDir. If you don't find the answer, reach out below.

What does OptDir sell?
Nothing. No vendors, no software, no consulting, no courses. We maintain a directory โ€” you read, compare, and decide for yourself.
How is the content produced?
Our editorial team curates from academic theses, peer-reviewed journals (Computers & Operations Research, Production Planning & Control), INFORMS Interfaces, industry association reports and SMB experience submissions. We verify the numbers and translate into plain English.
Why aren't brand names used?
Editorial choice: generic categories (e.g. “local ERP”, “global consultancy”) instead of specific company or product names. No commercial relationship, partnership or endorsement with any vendor; content stays neutral. Exception: bibliographic citation (thesis title, journal author).
My company is referenced; how do I get it removed?
No specific company names should appear in body content. If you find a reference in a source citation and want it removed, email [email protected] with the page URL and the reference. We review and remove before launch.
Which languages are supported?
Turkish (primary), English, German, Spanish, Italian, Arabic. Every URL is localized (e.g. /en/problems/, /de/probleme/).
Are the case studies real?
Yes โ€” every story is sourced from academic publications (theses, journal articles, INFORMS Interfaces). Each cites its original source. Company names are anonymized; numbers preserved verbatim.
How often does the newsletter ship?
Once a week, Tuesday/Wednesday morning. A 3-minute digest of new problems, case studies, hard lessons and a sector note. No selling, no links, no spam. Unsubscribe in one click.
Can I submit a case study?
Yes โ€” use the Share Story form or email [email protected] directly. Tell us the sector, the problem, what you tried, what you measured. Anonymity available on request.
Is there an RSS feed or API?
Every language has an RSS feed: /<lang>/index.xml. API access is on a waitlist; reach out at [email protected] to be notified.
Will the content stay free?
Yes. The directory is open and free. To keep it sustainable we may show limited, context-only ads in the future; when we do they will be separate from editorial content and clearly labelled. No paywall, no premium tier, no required signup.
